Re-Purposed

Copper CuffToday I finally decided to try my hand at working with some new material. A very generous friend provided me with some lovely sheets of copper, left over from a project. I’ve been trying to figure out how to make a cuff and after a visit to the hardware store and purchase of a metal sanding file, I was ready.

Does anyone else have a cramped closet filled with strange and wonderful art tools? if you do, you know that it’s always a gamble opening it because something is bound to land on your foot. Today it was a Chizzel-it, an interesting little tool that worked wonders on my copper scrap. I know there are amazing tools that are made especially for creating metalwork but I kind of like working with what I have.  It’s my motto and it produces some interesting results. Creativity waits for no fancy tools 🙂
